What to include in a report
- Missed fingerprint: the generator name and version, and the metadata field it wrote (for example
Software,parametersin a PNG text chunk, or a JUMBF box type). - Camera profile request: the body, the lens, and the exposure ranges you expect from it.
- Bug: your browser and version, the steps that reproduce it, and what you expected instead.
What we can help with most
New generator fingerprints are the most valuable contribution: every tool writes metadata slightly differently, and the audit rules in js/presets.js and js/detect.js grow with each report. If you run a batch workflow and see the same unknown field over and over, tell us what it contains and we will add it to the keyword list.
Self-hosting and integration
RealTag is plain static HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no runtime dependencies, so you can mirror it on your own infrastructure, put it behind your own domain or drive it from a headless browser in your test pipeline. If you build an automated fixture generator on top of it and hit a limitation, that is exactly the kind of feedback we want.
